The County Commission is the legislative body of Dickson County and is made up of twelve Commissioners.  A commissioner is elected from each of the twelve commission districts in Dickson County and serves a four year term. Members are elected in the August general elections, coinciding with the election of the state governor, and take office on September 1st.

The county commission meets for a work session the first Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.   Issues are brought before the commission for discussion to determine if the matter should be brought to the regular session for a vote.

Regular sessions are held the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.  Matters are brought before the commissioners to take action. When meeting dates fall on a holiday, the meeting is usually held on Tuesday the following day.
